Before you register for classes, it is important to see if you have any holds. Holds may be placed on your registration for various reasons including academic requirements, incomplete immunization records, outstanding student account balances, and more.  Since holds can prevent students from registering, adding and dropping courses, receiving transcripts, or graduating, it’s important that students are aware of their current holds.

To check whether you will be eligible to register, you may conveniently view registration hold alerts and receive other important University business notifications related to housing selection, financial aid awards, student accounts and other personalized information through the MyGW Portal. This on-line feature offers you easier registration as well as a way to conduct other personalized University business.

To view your holds:

Log back into MyGW and “My Action Items” will confirm the current status of your account.  Registration hold information is updated several times each hour. Visit the “My Action Items” section of the MyGW Portal at http://my.gwu.edu to see your hold status today!
