Important Events, Dates, and Information for GW Student Veterans to Note:

1. Action Item: complete your GW Request for Certification Form for the Spring 2010 semester.  

2. Please visit the Veterans Affairs (VA) website for information on emergency payments for student veterans. Online requests can be submitted starting October 2, 2009. GW student veterans should also contact a GW Veteran Services staff member (202-994-9570; vetserve@gwu.edu) for assistance with any questions or issues. 
 
3. Veterans using Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits should complete and submit the GW Request for Certification Form to Veteran Services.

4. GW Veterans Symposium  was held on October 23, 2009.

5. Posted April 2009. The George Washington University has decided to make a continuing commitment to America’s veterans though participation in the GI Bill’s Yellow Ribbon Program (YRP).  This significant commitment upholds a long history of GW’s support for veterans and will provide essential aid that will allow returning soldiers to earn a world-class education.

6. Posted April 2009. GW Is First D.C. Institution of Higher Education and One of the First in the Nation to Offer Significant Commitment Under Yellow Ribbon Program

7. GW Student Veteran Advocacy Expanded. Posted March 2009

8. Services and Resources for Student Veterans. A GW Student Veteran Services staff member holds office hours in Colonial Central and is also available by phone or e-mail.  Please allow one business day for responses by email or phone.
