Departmental Tuition Awards

Departments may pay tuition and/or fees for certain students out of their budgets. These payments are called tuition awards. Some academic departments use tuition awards to reward students who excel in their courses. Administrative departments may use tuition awards to pay the fees for employees taking work-related courses. Tuition awards are processed at the discretion of the department head, by an authorized employee within that department. Tuition awards debit the departmental budget and credit the student's account. Tuition awards release onto students' accounts nightly for the current semester. If a department is giving a retroactive award for a prior semester, then Student Accounts Office must be notified. The Student Accounts Office staff can release the prior-term award onto the student's account.
